In order to produce pragmatic, creative and internationally competitive human resources that can lead the knowledge-based society in the 21st century, the College of Electronics and Information Engineering has established the educational objectives as follows, so that the college may cultivate specific abilities of the students, based on the field-oriented engineering education system in the electronics, information and communication fields.

Department Introduction

Today, it is a trend that the electronic information communication technology is quickly evolving into the converged technologies connected with various academic fields, such as broadcasting, communication, machinery, bio, energy environment, national defense, and construction. And in the academic and industrial fields, training of competence-based professionals who are able to cope with the technological development has come to the fore. Accordingly, the educational objectives of our department focus on training professional human resources equipped with practical job skills, creative thinking ability and applicability based on the electronic, information and communication technologies, which are essential for the convergence field where various academic knowledge and industries are combined. Therfore, our educational programs are aiming at cultivating many-sided and professional abilities that may be applied not only the electronic, information and communication technologies, but various converged technologies

Today, it is a trend that the electronic information communication technology is quickly evolving into the converged technology that is connected to the diverse academic fields including the broadcasting, communication, machinery, energy, environment, sensor, system, automobile, national defense, public safety, mobile¤ıcloud computing, and construction. And in the academic and industrial fields, training of competence-based professionals, who are able to cope with the technological development, has come to the fore. In order to meet with the needs of times, the electronics convergence program, which breaks from the existing educational methods that cram students' head with theoretical knowledge, the educational programs of our department are focused on training professional with many-sided abilities, such as design ability, job performance ability, knowledge and teamwork participation related to the current technology level and direction of future development, which enable them to adjust in diverse converged technology fields on the basis of clear understanding of electronic information communication technology. To achieve this, our department has set up educational objectives as follows.
¨ç Cultivating the research abilities through in-depth learning about basic science, major subjects of electronic information communication, including the converged technologies.
¨è Cultivating the practical ability through software/hardware experiments and design exercises related to the converged technologies including electronic, information and communication.
¨é Cultivating the ability to recognize the flow of technical development of electronic, information and communication fields, including the ability solve problems on the basis of economic sense.
¨ê Cultivating the knowledge needed by global professionals, which include communication ability, awareness of the goals, responsibility, foreign language skills, and teamwork spirit.

Because of the education focused on professionalism and diversity of industries, the graduates of our department may get a position at the leading cable TV stations, DMB broadcasting companies, public TV stations, telecommunication companies, and research centers related to multimedia. And also they are steadily employed by conglomerates related to the national IT convergence industry, such as Samsung Thales, LG Nex 1 Future and STX Engine, including mid-sized enterprises in defense industries and other research centers related to national defense.
